Changes to Camp Booking Procedures1. A $50 deposit per building or $10 per campsite is required to confirm all reservations. The deposit (paid by cheque) must be paid within 2 weeks to confirm the reservation. Please send the cheque to: Scouts Canada Southwestern Ontario Administrative Centre Once the cheque has been received a confirmation document along with camp rules etc. will be emailed/mailed to you. Please ensure that you bring the confirmation with you and check in with the Camp Factor. The deposit cheques will be destroyed once confirmation has been given by the Factor that the group did utilize their reservations and no damage was done to the building. Additional bookings will require a new deposit cheque – cheques will not be maintained on file. 2. Restrictions placed on buildings have been eliminated (i.e. Harvester Lodge can only be booked by Cubs has been eliminated). Please ensure that when you are booking you select the building that best meets your group size/section. 3. The rolling 4 month period in accepting camp bookings has been eliminated and is replaced with the following:

Restrictions on the number of non-Hamilton Wentworth Scout groups has been eliminated and is replaced with the following: Non - Hamilton Wentworth Scout groups will be able to start booking 2 months after Hamilton Wentworth Scout groups have the opportunity. Please note that from 3 and 4 above Hamilton Wentworth Area Scout groups have a head-start to ensure that they get first choice in buildings. 5. Reservations maybe cancelled 2 weeks prior to the booking with out penalty (it was 4 weeks). Cancellation within the 2-week period will result in the deposit being forfeited. 6. 60 days prior to sub-area camps a list will need to be submitted by the sub-area commissioner of what groups are in each building. Failure to provide a list will result in the sub-area reservations being cancelled. Once the list has been provided individual groups will then have 10 days in which to mail the deposit cheque in (see #1 above). 7. Tent Camping is no longer “at large”. When doing a booking you will need to specify what area you will be camping in. When booking a building the area (25 metres) around the building maybe used for tent camping with out the need to book a specific site. 8. The Camp Factor will ensure that all buildings are opened by 7:00 pm Friday night. There is no need for you to obtain a key prior to your visit. If you require access to the building prior to this time (Friday at 7:00 pm) then keys will be available at the volunteer help desk located at Scout House. Times that this help desk will be staffed will be published at a later date. 9. The Ragged Falls key will need to be picked up at the volunteer help desk. |
