HONOURS & AWARDS

Information about Volunteer Recognition

There are two main ways that we can Thank Volunteers for Service or Recognize them for their contributions to Scouting: formal recognition through the Honours & Awards Committee or informally, through the group. Sometimes both are appropriate. Special Youth Recognition can also be part of the formal process.

Recognition

Long Service Awards

  • Recent administrative changes within Hamilton Wentworth Area have an effect on the Honours & Awards process. If you believes that you or a someone in your group will be eligible for Long Service Recognition (e.g. 10 year, 15 year, etc.) at the end of this Scouting year, it is important to act now.
  • Write a note to H & A (Bruce Riddiough) informing of eligibility for a Long Service pin. Include full name, group number and a phone number. You can take or send the Help Desk at Scout House and label the information “to the attention of the Honours & Awards Committee, c/o Bruce Riddiough. Or you can send your information by email. Remember to give all information.
