Scouts Canada Volunteer Screening Information

Hamilton Police Services have introduced a new "Vulnerable Sector Screening Form" available on their web site.

A volunteer who requires a police check can print the form from the web or obtain a copy from your Group Administrator, a commissioner or the Help Desk.

When completing the form, be sure to check off the reason for request as screening for VOLUNTEER, check the "Consent for a criminal record check for a sexual offence for which a pardon has been granted or issued" and date and sign the form in two places.

When dropping off the form at the police station, the volunteer must show a letter signed by the Group Administrator, a Commissioner, or Help Desk Volunteer to indicate that the person is a volunteer with Scouts Canada is therefore entitled to the $25 rate for volunteers vs the $40 rate for employment.

Volunteers may request up to 3 copies of the PRC when dropping off the forms at the police station. Volunteers must show two pieces of ID and must show the same two pieces of ID when picking up their completed PRC 30 days later.
